Can't Dial-Up after Hibernation

Hello,
I hope this is the right spot to post. Let me know if I'm wrong.

After putting my computer in hibernation, I can't dial-up to the internet.
The connection dial-up box does not appear when I double-click its icon.

Any help?

Are you connected to the internet when you put the system into hibernation ?

The modem may be getting left in an undeterminate state.

Try running a diagnostic on it to see it its still ok and online

control panel/phone and modem/modems/click on modem to
highlight/properties/query modem

That's what it was. I guess every thime I had hibernated I was still
connected. After rebooting, I tried hibernating when I was unconnected.

So, what you now have to do, is to send your modem an initialisation string
to reset it, before it dials, then it should work after resuming from
hibernation.
You can set up initializtion strings from within modem properties.

You may need to look at the modem documentation to find the correct init
string.
