Can't Detect Handycam Under Windows Xp Sp2 Firewire

Here my problem i have a Sony Handycam DCR-HC21 and Sony Handycam DCR-HC20.
WindowsXp SP2 Don't see those device i have try a newer handycam and it was
working perfectly, i have also try the DCR-HC21 and DCR-HC20 on windows 98 it
working fine. But on every computer whit xp sp2 is not working windows at all
it don't even see that something new is plug, all the drivers are updated
and so windows to im a litle disasparate i dont wan't to make a dual boot
whit windows 98 or xp sp1 just for transfaring my videos ... PS the ilink
Firewire cable is working fine. all other fire perefical are working execp
for those 2 handycam PLEAZ HELP ME !!!
 
Pre SP2 microsoft didn't quite follow the IEEE1394 protocol.
Sony do not follow the protocol either, which is why they call theirs
i-link.
When MS brought out SP2 they decided that they would adhere more strictly to
the IEEE1394 protocol.
This means that some cams which don't follow it don't work properly.

won't install
