every time i try to delete a certain movie file it gives
me an error saying that the file is currently in use,
even though the computer was just restarted and no
programs are running. how can i get rid of this file??

Greetings

To correct this misbehavior in Windows XP, remove the following registry
key.

Goto Start>>Run>>Type "regedit" goto

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850D
C73E}\InProcServer32] - Delete this key

This will prevent Explorer from loading shmedia.dll in response to file
property queries on these files.

*Delete - Can't Delete Files or Folders
*Delete - Permission Denied When Trying to Delete Folders/Files

There is a nifty program called MoveOnBoot found at
http://www.gibinsoft.net/gipoutils/. Once installed, right click on the
file you want to delete and go to Properties. On the Properties window will
be a tab called GiPo@Utilities. Click on the tab and then click on
GiPo@MoveOn Boot. Then reboot and the file will be deleted.

Regards,
Bill

Open folder where the file at
then right click on it and select cut,
close that window completely and then paste it to recycle bin.

Works 99% of the time.

also check that no kazaas or whatever software u use to view it or download
it is running.

good luck
