Can't delete or move messages from Inbox (Outlook 2007)

I regularly find that when deleting, moving (or reading) a message from the
Outlook 2007 Inbox, the message remains listed (or bolded as unread).
If I exit and restart Outlook, the Inbox display is resfreshed and the
messages are no longer displayed or are displayed as read (as appropriate).
Any thoughts?

Has Outlook always behaved this way? If not, when did it start and what
environmental changes happened just before then?

Hi Milly,

I started using Outlook 2007 a few months ago as part of our company's trial
of Office 2007. The problem did not occure in Outlook 2003, but started a few
days into using 2007.

Hi Roady,

I am using a Microsoft Exchange Server account.

Thanks. No, had not scaned. I just ran SCANPST on C:\Documents and
Settings\...\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.ost. I
claimed to find and fix some errors. I guess I'll see what happens over the
next few days.
I am assuming that outlook.ost represents my inbox. I don't have any
problems with my PST files/folders.

There should be a separate SCANOST program. I'm not sure SCANPST should be
used on an OST. In fact, I don't think either are needed. With Outlook
closed, just delete the OST and let Outlook rebuild it.
