can't delete folder, it keeps coming back

I have XP pro with 2 HD's on my D drive I have this empty
folder with a certain name that no matter how many times
I permanently delete it, it will show back up. Sometimes
rightaway and sometimes after awhile.
 
it's just a folder I created with the name of a music
artist, in the folder I stored wav files of that artist.
I got rid of the wavs then tried deleting the empty
folder. but it keeps coming back.

It sounds like some program (probably music download program or a player) is
putting the folder back because of a setting in it's options or preferences
that stipulates to put music files in that particular location.
