Can't delete Favorites

When I try to delete a few favorites that I've bookmarked, I get a window
that says, "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk."

Is there a way I can get rid of these unwanted sites I've saved without
deleting the entire folder?

Locate this path:
C:\Documents and Settings \Local user\Favorites = look in the right
Pane/Window and highlight the Links you want to delete and then click SHIFT +
DELETE.
Try in safe mode.
