Hi, when I try to defragment a window pops up and says the NTLS volume I need
is already in use. That a check disk has been scheduled. I've gone to command
prompt and it says it will run when I reboot. It doesn't run. I have tried
everything I know. I have even tried to restore my system, but it won't let
me!
Help, Hollyn

Do you have ZoneAlarm installed and did you recently upgrade it to
version 5.0? It has been reported that ZoneAlarm 5.0 may be the root cause
of your problem. Uninstalling ZoneAlarm Version 5.0 solves the issue.

Have you tried restarting your computer and then running Disk
Defragmenter?

Hope this helps.

Yes, i have tried everything. It tells me that volumes needed to run
Disk Defrag are scheduled to run CHKDSK. And would I like to run it when i
restart my computer? It is a vicious cycle because that program never runs.
Even when I command prompt. I also don't have Zone Alarm. Any other ideas?
Thanks, Hollyn

I've tried everything here but here's what happens-I type chkdsk and all I
see is the 'little black box' open for a second, close, and I'm back where I
started I can't even 'get through'to it.

Start button --> RUN --> type in:

cmd /k chkdsk %systemdrive%

--> Click OK.

What happens?
