Office 2000 running on XP HE.

Recently discovered that clicking on the 'Customize Outlook Today' link will
no longer open the page where I can make changes to the way it displays.
Tried running repair - but not re-install as yet.

Any ideas of how to solve this without having to re-install?

Many thanks.

This is not an answer to your question, just a heads up
that I have exactly the same problem, as posted (rather
inarticulately) on 9-24, as follows: "When I
click "Customize Outlook Today", nothing happens. The
index finger is stubborn and simply will not open the
dialog box, although it does show dotted line pattern
around the button/tab. I have tried to find alternate
ways into this feature to change Outlook Today's settings,
but have come up blank. Any suggestions, short of
reinstalling Outlook (2000)? Thanks. Simmie"

If you find a solution to this, I would appreciate your
sharing it with me, and I will of course do the same.
Thanks, Smeagol

Thank you so very much. For awhile I thought the problem
might have something to do with the inordinate amount of
faux-Microsoft 'virus protection' and 'critical patch
update' notices that arrive in my Inbox every day and that
have virus files attached. It's ironic that in my naive
attempt to prevent such intrusion and destruction by
downloading the REAL critical updates from the REAL MS
site, I managed to mangle my Outlook Today capabilities.
Oh, well. Keeps you on your toes, doesn't it?

Thanks again.

I had the same problem. Upon further searching I came
across this support file.

The workaround is detailed in the text. Hope this helps!

Brilliant! Many thanks indeed for that.

On reflection, is only me - or are there other people out there who are
getting more than a little fed up with Microsoft. You pay the earth for
their latest operating system only to discover it is shot full of security
holes requiring service packs and countless additional security patches.
Then, having fixed all these problems you discover the 'fixes' have caused
even more functionality difficulties. How come we have to pay so much for a
bucket load of fertilizer!!!
