After recreateing video I found that MM created 2 large clips and removed the
"create clips" option. I must have done something that caused this but I
haven't a clue as to what it was. Following is my recollection of what I did.
Computer has Media center Edition 2005.
1. I entered a name for the captured Video.
2. I tried to save the Video to a subfolder under My Video.
3. I created the subfolder but I couldn't rename it.
4. Sellected format (DV-AVI) since I wanted highest quality, file size not
a concern since there is more than 200 GB of free space remaining.
5. Selected Capture entire tape automatically.
6. Box for "Show preview during capture" alreaty had a check in it. I
didn't change it.
7. I clicked next and system started capturing.
8. There was a box for "creating clips when wizard is finished" and I'm not
certain if I placed a check mark in it or if it was already checked.
9. At about this time I noticed 3 statements that I assumed were generated
by the system and identifyed what the system was doing. They were 1)
rewinding tape 2) capturing video and 3) creating file. The 1st two had been
checcked.
I'm reasonably certain that data on the entire tape was captured.
Size of the Video file is 4.54 GB
I Stopped capture when there was abou 12 minutes left on the tape.
Your help will be appreciated.
