Can't create a new folder on CDRW

I have a cdrw that I use to save pictures. When I try to create a new folder
on the disc, I get an error message telling me I can't create a new folder.

Has anyone had this problem? Is it a problem just with the disc or is it a
system problem?

Any help is appreciated.

What burning software is being used? XP's built-in burner will not
read/write to a CD/RW as if it were a big floppy. For that you will need
another burner program. Look here, for info on the capabilities and

You can burn a folder to the cd, but you can't make a new folder on the cd
like you do your hard drive. Use 3 party packet writing software like nero's
INCD. This will let you use the Disk like a floppy.
