Hi Group,

I'm the only user of this computer so by default I'm also
the administrator.

I want to view the contents of my index.dat file in my
cookies folder. I figured I would make a copy in a
different directory to do this but I get this message when
I try:

Your current security settings do not allow you to
download files from this location.

That's funny! What security settings might those be? As
the administrator, I've not made any settings like that.
I'm not even sure how to do that!

I guess I could just open the file with notepad in it's
current location couldn't I?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply, but it didn't really help. I don't
want to delete the index.dat file.

I want to know why I can't copy/move *ANY* file from that
directory(folder).

C:\Documents and Settings\<Me>\Cookies

I can delete files in that dir. I can copy/move files to
that dir. But I can't copy/move *ANY* files from that dir.

Why ???????

Any ideas?

Hi there,
index.dat is always in use by Windows.. the only way I
know of to get rid of it (without doing a ton of stuff) is
some sorta cleaner.. (if you wanna delete it) why do you
wanna change it anyway :S lol hope this helps..
