hey there,

just trying to set up small business server 2000 to be a
domain controller following

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?
url=/TechNet/prodtechnol/windows2000serv/howto/depprof1.asp

but I don't get the same configuration screen/options as
the howto. Don't start laughing yet as there is a
question coming:

how would I reset the wizard to the default start (i.e.
asking if the server is the only one in the network [step
2 of "Configuring Your Server as a Domain Controller"]) as
I believe starting again is what is required.

if you can't create a domain or are confused, just install the server using
all default settings. After the installation, use dcpromo or go to
administrative tools to install DC.

Follow the wizards and have a look at www.smallbizserver.net and the
microsoft.public.backoffice.smallbiz2000 newsgroup.
You start with putting CD1 in the server and let it go all the way until the
very last CD has been installed.
You will want to call your AD-domain something like company.local and not
company.com.
