Can't connect

Daughters One and Two have a simple peer-to-peer network. All of a
sudden, Daughter 2 can't go on-line. IE6 eventually gets a DNS error
"Cannot find server..." after a long wait. Everything else on both
computers is fine, just can't connect on the one, whose 10G HD is just about
full. I used the repair tool, and uninstalled/reinstalled IE6, but no dice.
What gives? Thanks, Jim

Jim,

Get rid of the "P2P", if it's Kazaa, here's a tool to wipe it out.
http://www.merijn.org/downloads.html
Download the Kazaa-be-gone tool, assuming Kazaa.

For loss of Internet connectivity due to a Spyware and virus ridden P2P
use the "LSP-fix": http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

If daughters *must* run a P2P, here are some "supposedly" Spyware
free (use at own risk and peril).

May have confused you a bit, SJ. Their computers are networked to each
other -- they share the internet connection, the printer, etc.
"Port-to-port" might be a better term; I believe there's just a wire between
them (no hub etc., just a 3Com ethernet card).
However, because of all their instant messaging etc., I ran SpyBot on both
computers. Nothing.
