Quintin

I attempted to connect an XP box to a XP Pro machine as a
client for MS Networking. Simple right? I can't see the
other machine. They belong to the same work group and
have the protocols installed. Further more, I don't have
an icon to "view work group computers".

As a side note, the UI for Control Panel is stuck in
classic view, and when I go to "Network Connections"
there is no "view work group computers".

I'm an XP Pro user and this is the first time I've ever
had to deal with XP Home. What I am missing?

Thanks

There should be no difference between XP Home and XP Pro in viewing a
workgroup, Quintin.

I don't have a "View workgroup computers" icon in the Network
Connections folder on my computer, either. There's an icon for "My
Network Places". When I click that icon, it opens My Network Places,
and the "View workgroup computers" icon appears there.

How many protocols do you have installed? Using more than one can
make network browsing fail.

I've written a web page that should help you get everything working:
