can't connect with IE6

I am permanently connected with NTL Broadband.
My P2P connects fine and so does MSN Explorer but every time I open the I.E. browser it says it cannot find the server. I have tried to uninstall I.E. so I can reinstall but cannot fully uninstall it.
If I try to install over it, each installation program says it cannot install as I have a newer version than the one being installed.
Any ideas?

Oh dear!!!

I have just reinstalled IE6 and now when I have loaded up i get a Run dll
error saying ' Error loading C:\windows\system32\NvCpl.dll. My computer has
also started up in Safe mode from what I can gather as I have no graphics
other than 4-bit.

Any suggestions?

You need to reinstall your NVIDIA video adapter drivers.
If you have a desktop computer, visit:
http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp
and download, then install, the Windows XP drivers.

If you have a notebook computer, visit the manufacturer's
website and download the latest Windows XP drivers
for your video adapter from there.

I have sorted out the graphic problem.
I have reinstalled IE6. But to no avail.
IE6 will not connect to the internet.

I keep getting the following message ' The page cannot be displayed

Any more suggestions as the sites provided do not seem to cater for this

I'm suffering from same problem. Running XP SP1 with IE6 SP2. I know connection works I get auto downloads from MS and McAfee, and I can ping my DNS server. I searched MS Downloads and found q331906 which described this problem. Tried to install but failed. Error msg says it requires IE6 SP1. Tried to downgrade my IE6 from SP2 to SP1. You already know that doesn't work. There has to be a fix to this at MS. Too many in this community with same problem
