Hi Michelle,
First thing to do would be to uninstall the modem and remove the device with the question
mark.
Reboot the computer.
See if it detects the modem.
Test.
Sounds like a driver gor corrupted at some point.
If you reboot after uninstalling the question mark and the modem in Device Manager and it still
does not detect the modem, then try obtianing updated drivers for the modem from the
manufacturer or reload the ones from the disk or CD that came with the modem.
