Can't connect to the internet

I have a Win2K (P3 500mhz 128ram) machine that connects to the LAN just fine, and will even ping the firewall, but will not ping the ISP's DNS. I keep having this problem intermittently throughout my network, but constantly on this machine and on an XP Pro (p4 2.4ghs 512ram) machine as well. It just will not get on the internet.

Sounds like a firewall issue, or a gateway issue.
You don't give us enough of the right kind of information to make even an
educated guess. I'd check the firewall rules to start with.
Maybe we can see something if you post an ipconfig /all
