For over a week now I have been unable to connect to the
server that hosts my website. I also cannot view any of
the websites hosted on this server, send/receive mail or
connect to the server using an FTP program. Examples of
website hosted on this server is www.worped.com ,
www.gigposters.com .

This is happening on two computers I have. Both use
Windows XP Home Edition and the same ADSL connection -
one connects to a Netgear router with an ethernet cable,
the other with a wireless adapter.

I cannot ping the IP address - the request times out. 4
packets are sent, 4 lost.

On a few occasions I can connect to the server and view
the sites etc, but for absolutely no apparent reason,
this happens very few times.

I can view any other server/website on the internet. I
can receive email from other servers. I don't have any
trouble connecting to ADSL itself.

I use IE6, have tried using Netscape 7.1, but no joy.

I've contacted the server hosting company, there's no
problems their end. I've contacted my ISP, no problems
there either.

This issue is unbelievably frustrating and have no idea
of how to sort this out.

Any help or replies would be very very very much
appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

No, I can't ping the IP address. (I already said:)

Internal DNS - I've no idea to be honest. I'm afraid I
don't know everything there is to know about these kind
of things....

You mentioned some other domains on the same server that ARE accessible.
Can you ping those domains? If so, read on. If not, reply back.

If you can't ping it by IP address, try to do this (at a command prompt)
tracert <IP Address> (replace <IP Address> with the IP address)

Do the same thing for the other domains on the server, except specify the
name of the domains that work instead of the IP address of your virtual
server. The tracert for your domain's IP should start timing out at some
point, while the other tracert should go all the way through to the server.
Call your ISP back with that info in hand and chat with them. Explain that
both IP addresses are on the SAME physical server and see if you can get
some action that way.

Also, out of curiosity, what DSL modem do you have? I had a similar problem
with my personal domain. All other web sites, including ones on the same
server, worked fine. Resetting the DSL modem cleared it up, so that might
be worth a try, at least.
