Can't connect to ODBC database

I'm trying to connect my Access 2003 Front End to a MySql Back End. When I go
to through the linked table manager and select ODBC database type for the
file type, the dialog box closes. It just closes and I'm not able to link the
tables.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If this is not the correct forum
please guide me to the propper one.

There was a bug in certain MySQL drivers. Try the newest one.

I just downloaded and installed the newest ODBC connector for MySql.
Unfortunately, the same thing happens. When I go to the link dialog box and
choose ODBC as the file type, the dialog box simply closes.

Any other suggesiton would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, rob
