I have vista on my laptop and have had absolutely no problems with it in the
months since I got it.

I just build a new gaming pc and everything is working great except the
internet. I can't call any tech support because it's the weekend and don't
know what to do.

the problem is that on the desktop it is only letting me on local and the
network is unidentified. My computer is recognizing both lan ports as being
installed and functional. When It made me choose the type of connection it
only allowed me to choose PPPoe, and dial up if I choose the checkbox to
choose options I don't have.

I use cable so I don't have a PPPoe to assign in there so I left it blank
and it didn't work. I think this is the problem but it doesn't give me any
other options.

I really need some help here as this is aggravating and my work is through
my email that I can't really access.

I am using an Asus Striker Extreme Motherboard and have vista home premium
32 bit installed. I am going to upgrade to 64 bit once it comes. Not gonna
list the rest of the pc since I am sure it doesn't matter being that the lan
is on the board itself.

If disable IPv6, can you access the Internet? Or this post may help,

Thanks for that man, I got excited to see that but it didn't help

Another thing to note is that everytime I did something you told me, or the
post told me. It took forever for it to get past the identifying stage. This
seems to be a weird problem that some have and no one knows how to fix
