I have a desktop and laptop both running xp pro on a home network. I want to use the remote desktop connection to connect from the laptop to the desktop. I have gone to the "remote" tab on the System Properties applet and checked the box (on both computers) to allow users to connect remotely. however, when I go to the Remote Desktop Connection neither computers can see each other. I've tried browsing and typing in the computer names. The two computers can see each other for regular network stuff

thanks in advance for your help

Try typing in their IP Addresses (available via Start->Run->cmd, then
IPCONFIG). Name resolution can be tricky when there is no WINS or
local DNS server available...
