can't connect issues to pc remotely

My cousin tries to connect to me using remote desktop, but says he gets a
data encryption can't connect message. i looked in the microsoft site and
it's no help the info they give which is the same as anything else. I can
connect locally and remotly using my own ip from my own pc. So why is he
getting the data encryption message and can't connect and what do i need to
do to fix that? i have port 3389 in my router forwarding to the pc. I've got
win xp pro sp1 using the critical updates etc.

AV software will not interfere with remote connections I seriously doubt.
And also it has none running on it at all.
