Cant compress some images in my pp file. Ungroup greyed out

I Cant compress some images in my pp presentation. Looked up help, suggested
that I right click, press ungroup, then regroup to loose OLE data
information. Should then be able to complress images ok. But the ungroup
op[tion is greyed out. Any help??

Try this:

Select the image. Hit CTRL-X (to delete image), then Paste Special > PNG.
Do this on any image that you may have copied from say, a PDF doc (PPT won't
compress these) and see what happens.

I have never liked PowerPoint's compress feature in any version. I
found it to be way too unreliable and witnessed the same for many
other users. I've even seen it destroy graphics. If you can't get a
solution to your issue, explore buying an add-in that does a much
better job with many more options. Some even have free downloadable
trials. If you often compress or convert objects to graphics or reduce
file sizes, you'll thank yourself for buying one of them. Others here
can give you links to such add-ins, I'm sure if you ask.
