Can't close out sometimes or type on some pages

I'm not sure when this started, but I am having problems
closing out, or clicking on the "x" to close out a page.
I also can't type on all my internet sites. Some are ok,
and there is absolutely no pattern to this. I also can't
change the background picture on the monitor screen.
