I haven't been able to close the document files without the computer hanging
on me. It just sits there and when I try to close out again i get the "not
responding" error. When I click on end now the computer hickups back to the
desktop and then it will finallly close. Has anyone ever had this happen.
I have scanned the computer for viruses and also done a scan disk to repair
any damaged sectors of the hard drive. Can someone help me out with this?

Thanks,

Have you tried a system restore to before it happened ?

Hi Brian,
Read here as this patch may be causing windows explorer to stop responding:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/918165

also, If you have lots of images in the My Documents folder...you may
want to make several smaller folders and divide the contents up.
One troubleshooting tip I use is to right click and copy the image
folder (or videos, etc...) and copy. I then paste the folders somewhere
else on the C drive temporarily or just move them over to dvd-rw or
cd-rw media. Then delete these from the My Documents folder. See if
this simple trick will solve the problem of the My Documents folder not
responding.

Try the above tip for the patch if you installed it and possibly the tip
to moving your images or videos if this is where you store them and see
if the problem clears up. Post back.
Take Care...
Dee
