Dammit,just can't do it yet.It's between the 9800 pro and the nv 5900. One is
great in OGL the other smokes in D3D.
 
I can honestly say that my 9800 pro is the best computer upgrade I have ever
done.
 
My best computer upgrade was 3dfx voodoo 1, I can still remember scooping my
jaw off the floor after seeing the original Tomb Raider in 3d accelerated
mode

For my part my trusty 9700 np - reflashed to "pro" zings along nicelly
thanks. I've also decided that for the time being I'll make do with "second
user" last-years best performer and soft/hard mod it with the benefit of 12
months of other peoples enthusiasm :)

Accordingly for the #2 machine at home I've just bought off eBay a 64Mb 9500
np, which with a few simple mods will bring me to within a "gnats-cock" of
a 9700 pro - for less than a third of the price that I paid for the other
card 8 months ago.

Just my two bobs worth!

My best upgrade was a Banshee (first accelerated card) and coloured lighting
in Q3 - oooh, pretty! :-)

Since I'm considering the 9700np by Power Color at Game VE for $217 w free
shipping, would you explain the mods you used to increase performance and do
you think that is a good deal for the card?
