Can't clear search history

I am not very technically literate with regard to
computers, so please bear with me. When I double-click on
the search box of any search engine, I get an alphabetical
listing of all of the previously searched-for items. I
have attempted to perform a "Clear Forms," but it never
seems to work. I have also tried restarting after
performing the clear forms, but that also doesn't work. I
have also attempted to delete cookies, history,
and "temporary internet files" under "Internet Options."
None of this has worked. Every time I go back to a search
engine and begin typing in the search box, a list of
previously searched words/phrases keeps coming up. How do
I erase that search history?

.
try using the 'delete' key when a term comes up.
highlight it first with your mouse, then hit delete (not
backspace). you might have to do it for each term.

I am not sure if this will work, but try Tools | Internet Options | Content
| Auto Complete | Use Complete For. Uncheck all of all of the boxes and
clear forms using the button.

Good luck
Jim
