Can't clear history

I've been having a problem with my IE 6.02 browser not
clearing the history when I go to Tool; Internet Options;
Clear History. It acts as tho it's deleting the list,
but it isn't. Rebooting after I "clear" the history
doesn't make any difference.

What's causing this?

Close IE and use the Internet Options applet in the Control Panel to clear
history.
