Can't change Secondary Slave to Primary Master!

For some bizarre reason, after surfing the net for the
first time, my 1 month old PC decided to create an 8Gb
Primary Partition and make it my Primary Master Drive
with no data on it whatsoever. My Lite-On Combo CDR/DVD
is now set to Secondary Slave. I have formatted my entire
hard disk and re-installed windows XP (which is now
running a bit jaded) but it hasn't moved it upto the
Master disk position. How can I change it? I've tried
looking in CMOS but it won't let me change the settings.

Please Help. Desperate!

XP should have a 8mb partition on a hd,but its not used as primary, theres
not enough room on it.Try booting to xp cd,repair,or use cmd prompt in windows
(no changes can be made in windows-read only),type:DiskPart
then:list disk then: list volume
Youll get a better picture of whats going on,in DiskPart from booting to cd,youll get
the cmds to delete the partition.

If you asking Primary master change on your drives.
you need open you pc case cover, and change you jumper settings on your drives.

Primary and Secondary refer to which IDE ports the cable is plugged into on
the motherboard.Master and slave have to do with the jumpers on the backs of
the devices (or cable position, if you're using cable select).

It's not possible to change such things via software.
