When I uncheck display a notification about every script error click apply
and ok...the check mark always comes back. Also after I make the change
there's a funny clicking sound for a few seconds. I have windows xp service
pack 2 (sp2)

Hi Matt,

Do you have any toolbars installed? There is a previous post (I could not
find it) but basically there is a toolbar(forgot its name) that resets the
script error setting (the developer obviously forgot to remove it before
distributing it)

You can test if this is the case by unchecking the 'Enable Third-party
browser helpers' on the advance tab and then uncheck 'Display notification
about script errors' and restarting IE.

Please post back here with the name of the toolbar (and its download url) if
this is the case

I have a Google toolbar. I tried to do waht you said and the check marks just
keep coming back even when I unchecked the "Enable Third Party Browser
helpers" and restarted... that check mark was back . "What's Up"

Woo Hoo!! I solved my problem... I uninstalled STOPsilla and it solved a lot
of problems I was having. Don't know weather to install it again or just
forget it. Maybe they'll refund my money....Yeah right
Thanks
