can't change icons

I can't get my htm and html files to show the correct icon (it originally
displayed a 'load from file' or somesuchon right-click, but that window has
now gone) - they are stuck on the default general icon

I have tried rebuilding the icon cache, used Microangelo to try alternative
icons, even deleted them out of the 'file types' area to force a
re-association on reboot, but it is stubbornly stuck and I cannot change
their appearance

any suggestions as to what to do?

And this is related to Outlook in what way???

Anyway, rightclick the icon (if not WinXP also hold SHIFT) and choose Open
With... and browse to Internet Explorer.

Changing icons can be done in Control Panel-> Folder Options-> tab File
Types-> scroll to htm press Advanced button and click Change Icon button.

thanks for the advice - I've tried all of them before posting and they
don't, unfortunately, work!
