Hi. I can't change my home page. When I go in through
control panel to internet options, general tab, the home
page area is blacked out. If I try to change it while in
Internet Explorer, it says there are restrictions in
place and I should contact the system administrator. I
am the system administrator.

I should mention that my home page just changed on me
without me at least being aware of doing anything to
change, and I can't even get into my old home page (which
was simply optonline.net).

Any suggestions? Many thanks.

It is possible to prevent change of the homepage with group policy. If this
just came out of nowhere I would think some sort of malware like spyware.
Do a Google search and get the free version of Ad-Aware and also Spybot
Search & Destroy which is free. After you download and install them, use the
"check for updates" on both of them before using the programs.
Using these two programs is the first thing I would do. You may be in for a
big surprise in the results of the tests.

Do you have a pop-up stopper software in use? Sometimes these programs have
a place to disable changing homepage.

Rick, got the exact same problem. Did you get a solution?
David. I am new here. If you found the answer could you
email it to me at (e-mail address removed) ?
THanks!!
