My homepage in Explorer 6 is stuck on MSN home. I heard that this may be due
to Microsoft Defender or newer versions of IM. What can I do to change the
homepage to something else?

uhhh... I think I know how to change the home page in Explorer. I said that
the home page was STUCK on MSN home... I noticed that other people had
similar problems when I did a search in Google, but I'm not able to fix this
problem. Do I have to uninstall Defender?

I don't know if Defender has this "locking" homepage function, but lots
of other antispyware programs do. For questions regarding Defender,
post in one of the newsgroups specifically set up for this beta
program:

http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/newsgroups/default.mspx

These newsgroups can be accessed via NNTP or HTTP.

To access these newsgroups using NNTP, please use the following
information for your NNTP client (such as Microsoft Outlook Express):

- NNTP Server: privatenews.microsoft.com
- Account name: privatenews\spyware
- Password: spyware

NOTE: No password will be required via the HTTP link.

That will help you decide if you need to uninstall the beta Windows
Defender or not.

That did not answer his question. He said it was stuck on MSN home. I have
the same problem on my wife's Win XP Home Edition PC (w/ SP2) even
deinstalled the stupid MSN Explorer and MSN Messanger AND edited the
registry in Safe Mode. Still came back like eating spoiled meat.
