Can't change home page

I have visited many sites that suggest ways to change home page.
I downloaded "Hijack This" and scanned and removed the listings
for the home page that is stuck (probably via spyware). I have SpySweeper,
Spybot, Ad Aware and Bit Defender. None of them can find the bad
guy.

I have gone into the registry and found the items where that page is
specified as my home page but it will not let me modify the home page
there.

So I need to add some items to registry so that I can reset the home
page.

Does anyone know what they are?

And just WHAT is the web site that is being forced as your home page
in IE?
 
Never mind, I fixed it. Sorry, don't know how. I tried so many things that
I'm not sure what eventually did it.
