Im on WindowsXP Home--I have a network setup and
experience no problems, except for one. I can share
drives on each computer and see all the data, file
folders etc.

With this exception. The files in the shared directories
and subfolders are set to read only. I can go in and
change the attribute, but when I close the folder and
open it back up again it is set to read-only again. I
have a CD burner on one machine and want to move my
pictures over but I cannot because this is preventing the
copying.

Try the following link. You need to be logged on as an
Administrator. It will tell you how to take ownership of
the files. In addition, you may have to check another box
to change permissions for all sub-folders or files within
the folder you are wanting to access. Don't forget
to "apply" the settings. Good luck, bb
