I am trying to change the names of several computers in my
w2k network. However, when I change the name, click OK,
and then supply the admin id and password when prompted, I
get the error "The credentials supplied conflict with an
existing set of credientials." Then I have to cancel out
and can't change the name. Any idea what gives? Thanks!

Does this happens to all computers?

This issue might occur if you already have a connection to the server that
you intent to connect you (in this case, one of the DC) and you attempt to
establish another connection using a different credential. I suspect this
might be due to some mapping or home folder in your startup/logon scripts.
Try deleting the existing connections before you attempt the rename.

run "net use" to verify for any existing connections to the DC, if there
are, run "net use * /delete" to temporary delete these connections.
