can't burn or listen to a cd...

it seems like the lens doesn't read the CD wether it's a blank one or a music one. If anyone can help me plase let me know. Thanks...

Try the same CD on a friend's PC. Then ask yourself the following :

Did it work ? Yes : buy lens cleaner or a new CD player/recorder.

Did it work ? No : make sure the recorded CD's have been finalised. Try a
'normal' CD that you bought from a shop. If it still won't work, then see
above.

i was told that memorex and fuji cd's are suspect when a cd burner doesn't recognize a disc. Use Sony, Maxel
or Philips.
 
With newer equipment, I don't think is an issue anymore.
My burner will burn anything I put in and any brand. 2 years that was not
the case.
