cant burn a movie on a dvd

i just downloaded a movie and i cant burn it on a dvd i can play it in
windows media but when i try to burn it on a dvd it says theres a error i
dont know what to do
 
i'm having problems burning dvd it starts to burn but then a mess. comes up
microsoft visual c++ runtime library, runtime error programme:c\programme
files\ahead\ nero vision\nero vision exe.this application has requested the
runtime to terminate in an unusual way. please contact the applications
support team for more information this is the message that keeps coming up
every time i try to burn dvd it copies audio fine.

I have similar problem - have just saved video from moviemaker to c drive
which will play in Windows Media Player but will not burn to DVD RW.
