can't burn a dvd

I have a DVD+-RW. I'm trying to burn a DVD using a DVD+R disc. It won't
play in my DVD player or my computer. Am I using the wrong type of disc? I
get no errors while burning...it just won't play. Help....I'm really new at
this & haven't found an answer yet.

What burning program are you using? WinXP does not natively support DVD
burning. A program probably came with your DVD-R/W
