We have a workgroup with 2 servers and 5 users. The 5
users and 1 server can see each other in the browser. The
1 server cannot see any of the other systems. We can ping
both ways. We can search for the 1 server ONLY if we add
it in the hosts file of the system. If we add the 1
server into the hosts file, we can search for it and map
drives.
All systems could see each other until we did two things:
1) MS critical updates to the 1 server; AND
2) We closed ports 137, 138 and 139 on our FIREWALL (only
on the firewall). The firewall does DHCP for the 5 users
(servers on static IP).
The systems are all on the same subnet and using the same
subnet mask.
Any ideas?
TIA
