Hi,
This is my situation:
I have a Workgroup Network with a DSL Router(192.168.1.254) to browse the
Internet, and a switch where all the computers are connected.
I disable the DHCP Router service, so i manually configure each computer
ip.(192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.5),
Gateway(192.168.1.254),subnetmask(255.255.255.0), and a ISP DNS.
At this point, LAN and Internet are working fine.
Recently i installed a Windows 2000 Server in one of the computers and
configure TCP/IP with a static ip (192.168.1.6),and since i'm not using DHCP,
i stop this server service.
When i connect this computer to the LAN, I have access to the network and
Internet, but in a few minutes, the LAN keeps working but the internet stop
responding in this and all the other computers.
To continue working, i need to shut down the w2k server and restart the
router.
At first i suspect DHCP conflict, but i don't setup DHCP.
Can some one have a same situation or an idea of what i'm doing wrong?
Thanks in advance
