Can't Boot Up

After downloading the "Critical Updates" on Tuesday
night, 04/13/04, I get nothing but a BLUE SCREEN during
each reboot attempt. My home PC was working normally
until I did the Security Installs. I cannot boot up in
SAFE MODE or in any other fashion. I cannot log-on with
my password, cannot access the control panel or
anything. Does anyone know how to solve this problem. I
do not believe I will be downloading anymore Microsoft
products again. They cannot be trusted. They certainly
were not tested thoroughly enough, and Microsoft is being
so irresponsible in this matter that it is almost
criminal. After all, what is different from what they
have just done, from what some of those "hackers" out
there are doing by distributing useless crap and viruses
around the globe. Has anybody tried to call Microsoft at
800-936-4900 or 866-727-2339 to try and get help on this
issue? I have made (6) calls and was left "on hold" for
approximately (2) hours without ever reaching the "next
available professional". Try it sometime and see what
happens. If anyone else has any idea about how to fix
the problem as I and many others have described it, your
input would certainly be welcome. Thanks.

I had the exact same problem yesterday. I ended up getting
a new hard drive and now I am reinstalling everything. I
think I would have rather had a virus. Microsoft has been
no help in all this.

The article below called windows update shows that if you
leave the machine long enough it will boot and you can
then remove the update. I have been waiting now for
20mins and it seems to be true. If you run the
taskmanager, you can run appwiz.cpl to access the
add/remove programs control panel and remove the update
then. It just takes some time.

If you up the priority of explorer.exe to high the add
remove programs wizard will come up faster, after you run
it you will get a new process called mshta.exe up the
process on this guy also to speed things up.
Note: Dont use real time updates, or that will take over
what you are trying to achieve.

The biggest problem I have with this is not knowing which
is the actual update.

When you click remove a new process called spuninst.exe
is started bump the priority on that up to high also

I have tried last in first out to determine which one to
remove

Cheers
