managed it many times in the past but suddenly i get a disk boot failure
every time i put a new image in a hard disk and start my system.I don't know
what is going wrong. Please give me a clue.
My building image has no warnigs or errors.
I will apreciate a soon reply..
Thanks in Advvance
Do you have a working target unit? If so then try partitioning,
formatting and copying the image onto the hard disk from the target
unit. If you image is stored on another PC then share the directory
and mount it from the working target unit.
I ran into a similar problem after replacing the motherboard on the PC
we use to copy images to target drives. The new motherboard gets the
geometry of the target drive incorrect. It even incorrectly
determines the size of the drive; you can check this by comparing the
size of the drive when partitioned and formatted from a working target
unit vs your current imaging PC.
If you're getting the dreaded "Disk Read Error" then this should
help. As far as I can tell "Disk Read Error" is not in the master
boot code; it's in the volume boot record (first 512 bytes of the
first active partition). I think this means that the chain loader
(Master boot code -> volume boot record -> ntloader -> ...) can't find
ntloader but am not sure about that.
All drives partitioned and formatted from a target unit have booted
without problem.
