cant back up pc software

I've tried to backup the contents of my pc onto cd's just
in case. However, towards the end I get a message
from "backup utility" stating that "the backup file name
could not be used. D:\123003.bkf Please ensure it is
a valid path, and that you have sufficient access." What
does this mean? I've tried other names but they all will
not take. Can someone help me fix this problem so I can
backup my pc. What am I doing wrong, how can I fix
this? Help.
