, Well, from what you're saying, you obviously know more about this thing
than I do so wonder why it worked so well in the begining? I think the
problem started when I got to fooling around with it and ended up with
duplicate contacts in Outlook. There were so many that I deleted
everything
and imported from OE again. Everything still works ok except for the DL
thingy. I always liked OE until MS started messing it up, but I do like
Outlooks calender, so for what ever reason, I'll probably keep running
both
clients for awhile, especially since I can still email groups with OE
using
auto complete. I run Outlook as default since OE will no longer work when
choosing mail recipient in the menu of a file or folder, so maybe I should
refrain from installing updates from MS. Also I'll try deleting one of the
DL's in Outlook and reinstall it manually to see what happens. Thanks for
your help. By the way, does anyone from Microsoft ever read any of this?
If
not, they should be!

No need for me to take another look.
Countless posts and KB articles have documented that you cannot import
groups reliably from Outlook Express to Outlook. There is simply no
counterpart for WAB groups in the Outlook PST file. In theory, the import
process could create a DL in the PST file from the WAB group during the
import process. But it just doesn't work. In fact, you can't even import
a
PST from one version of Outlook to another without breaking the DL's.
DL's are extremely fragile and unreliable. When you invoke a DL from the
autocompletion cache instead of the Outlook Address Book or Contacts
Folder,
you just add one more opportunity for corruption or errors to occur.
I don't mind if you don't believe me. I'd be even happier if you would
find
a solution.

You'd better take another look Russ. In Outlook, click file,
import/export,
import mail and addresses, choose OE, etc.... You certainly can import
them
and I've been using these groups as OE (OE dosen't have a daisy chain
member
function for these) calls them for years. I always use auto complete
when
sending a message with O and OE, except Outlook has decided not to work
that
way anymore(it worked great for awhile). It will still autocomplete and
produce the + but the message won't go anywhere, producing an
"unexpected
error" with no further information. If I try and open the member list
it
says
that the DL has been deleted, even though it's there, and I can open it
anytime and still make it work as long as I open the address book first
and
do it manually. Finally, it shouldn't make any difference how you
established
your DL's as long as they appear in your contacts and can be opened and
modified.
:
Explain how you imported these DL's from OE. OE has no DL's and groups
cannot be imported from OE.
Explain how you are entering the DL.
I would only expect a DL entered from the Outlook Address Book to
function
correctly.

Outlook 2003
All contacts and DL's imported from OE.
Sent emails with DL using auto complete, also opened daisy chain and
removed
who I wanted including the original sender.
Now, neither works anymore, but I can still do it manually by
opening
the
address book and entering the DL's one by one.
I have seen this problem question many times in all the forums, but
have
yet
to see a concrete answer. Help!
