Can't attach item text in e-mails

When I open up the Insert Item window from within and e-
mail message in Outlook 2003, the Insert As option
for "Text only" is greyed out. Is there anyway to get
this feature turned back on? In previous versions of
Outlook it was possible to attach text from an item into
the body of the e-mail message as opposed to attaching the
entire item. I find it difficult to believe that
Microsoft would have completely eliminated that
functionality in 2003.

Thanks in advance for your help!

This looks to be partially broken. Insertion works OK if you are inserting
text from an HTML-format email message. Otherwise, you'll get just a partial
insertion (and not necessarily the information you want).

Thanks for your reply, Sue.

Do you mean by partially broken that there is a bug in
Outlook 2003 or that there is something wrong with my
application? I checked and my e-mail format is set to
HTML, but I'm still getting the tex option greyed out in
my Isert window. If it is my application, how can I fix
this problem? I've had other people outside my office
inform me that they are having the same problem.

Broken = broken in Outlook, i.e. a bug

It's not your message format that matters, but that of the item you're
trying to insert.
