can't adjust settings in a tut

Not sure I will be able to make myself clear on this....I am using PPT 2003
and trying a PPT Workbench tutorial which uses a "spin" custom animation.
It calls for setting the first amount of spin at 15 degrees and then 15
degree increment increases there. The task pane has presets at
1/4, 1/2, FULL, 2 and custom. I am unable to select the custom option or
make any changes in the custom window. When I select the custom window I do
not get the check mark to the left It turns a pale off orange color. I can
type the changes in the window but when I click to set it returns to the
last set pre-set that was used. Can anyone help me make the custom
changes???

There will be no checkmark left of the custom value. Just type in 15 and DO
NOT FORGET TO PRESS ENTER!

(Glen, if you read this, could you please add this information?)
