Cant add Win2k Servers to domain

Greetings larger computing community,

I have a group of 10 servers .. 2 of which I have recently re-installed and
given the same name as they had before.

However I cannot add them to the domain .. I get a networking error saying
cannot find path.

I can term serv to each machine, I can pass files around on network shares
etc .. so it seems the network is good.

I have tried deleting the entries from Active Directory on the domain
controller but no success and a search on google came back with nada.

I really dont know where to look for a solution. .. (so here I am )

The computer accounts will be different. The name is for humans.

That's not real clear. Do you have an error number? How are you trying to
add them? Did you remove the old ones from AD before you rebuilt them?
What server role do/did they play?

But if they're not part of the domain, then you're connecting to the local
domain of these systems?!

Does this answer my previous question? You tried to re-add them before you
tried to remove them? Please define 'no success' and please provide
detailed error messages and what process was used. If you're in ADUC, then
it helps if you specify that.

Would like to be able to help with your issue, but need more information.

What is the test of the error you get when you try to join the servers to the domain? In the configuration of the network adapter on each server what is the ip
address configured for DNS? In order to join the domain the server will need to be able to resolve the domain controller, make sure that the servers have a
valid IP address and that they point to a local DNS server for prefered DNS.

AH ... little light goes on and there is 'well' light ... I pointed each
server's DNS entry at the DC and magic happened .. I suppose it makes sense
that the DC has DNS running as well .. just havent used it as I have other
DNS' I use.
