For the first clip in my project I saved a motion style from my DVD software
as a wmv. I created a transparent overlay & placed it over the wmv file with
a fade transition. For the next clip I added a jpeg & wanted to add a
transition between the first clip & the jpeg, but it will not let me add the
transition. Can you help me?

OK...if I am reading correctly...you want to insert
a Transition between a .wmv file and a JPEG file?

Just wondering...in Timeline view...what happens
if you Drag/Drop the Transition on the JPEG?

If this fails...it may be related to the overlay. Maybe
you could save the file with the overlay as a separate
..wmv movie file (File / Save Movie File) and then
reimport it. Then it should work.

I did try to drag/drop in the Timeline but that wouldn't work either. I used
your suggestion & saved the wmv file & the overlay as a separate wmv file,
reimported it & it works. Thanks so much for your help.
