I have full admin rights on my Dell latititude d600
running Win2K Pro. After adding USB support for my
Kyocera Palm phone, I can no longer run add/remove
hardware. This is true for all ids on the machine,
including administrator. This is the second Win2K image
that has been corrupted by tis install. Is there any way
to restore add/remove hardware rights without re-imaging
the machine?

Does it fix itself if you uninstall the Kyocera software?

Since this is the second time it's happened, I would not touch that software
with a ten-foot pole.

Thanks for the replies - a few more details. The
software worked fine on a toshiba portege laptop, however,
that machine only supported USB 1.1, so my hunch is
there's some issue with the USB 2 drivers on the Dell.
And no, the security is not restored when the software is
uninstalled.
